Northern Diver has completed another major milestone in its rigorous testing programme, announcing the successful performance of the Odyssey, Breathe Easy regulator system during a demanding controlled pool challenge.

​​​​​​​The test was designed to push the limits of airflow stability and shared-use performance. Using one cylinder, one Odyssey Breathe Easy first stage, and eight second stages, a team of eight divers simultaneously breathed from the system for more than 10 minutes underwater.

Despite the unusually high demand placed on a single first stage, every diver reported consistent airflow, zero restriction, and effortless breathing throughout the entire demonstration. These results further validate the Odyssey, Breathe Easy’s reliability, stability, and engineering integrity, particularly in scenarios requiring multiple divers to draw from a single source — a situation that can expose weaknesses in regulator performance.

The system’s design, optimised for extreme cold-water conditions and built with exceptional freeflow resistance, performed exactly as intended under pressure.

With the pool phase complete, Northern Diver is now preparing for the next stage of evaluation: deep-water testing inside the 22.5m dive tank at Northern Diver HQ. This upcoming trial will simulate real-world diving pressures and give engineers further insight into the system’s endurance and performance at depth.
